Background
I originally come from Northern Ireland in the UK and now live in Basel, Switzerland.
As a certified coach with a broad business and communications background, I started my career in Public Relations and Communications, working for a number of companies and organizations in Scotland and England before moving to Basel, Switzerland with my husband in 2003.
During my varied business career I have lived in many different locations and gained a great deal of experience working in corporate, private sector and public service industries covering pharma, airports, healthcare, leisure, housebuilding/construction, higher education, agrichemicals and consultancy.
In 2011, I made a conscious decision to change track and follow a new direction. This was triggered following a reorganization in the company I was working for – I was made redundant for the second time in my career. In truth, a change had been ‘brewing’ for a while (sounds familiar?), but I didn’t have the energy or courage to make it happen until the reality of losing my job struck.
At that point I felt stuck, undervalued, disillusioned, overwhelmed, lacking direction and lost. However, what I did know was that whatever I chose to do next, I wanted to discover my passion and purpose.
What followed was a period of exploration, learning and transition – exploring options and possibilities that eventually brought me to coach training with the Coaches Training Institute (CTI) and subsequent training in somatic coaching, and then in Somatic Experiencing which supports people in all work and life situations who have gone through overwhelming, traumatic and painful experiences.

Where I am now
From my home base in Basel, near the beautiful Swiss mountains, I now work as a Personal and Professional Transition Coach as well as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner.
So what does that mean, I hear you ask?
Basically, I love working with people who are committed to finding a new or different path, and supporting them in their search for meaningful and sustainable change, whether in their personal or professional life, and quite often it is a combination of both.
My coaching work acknowledges where people are in their lives and supports their journey to a different way of ‘being’, living and working.
In combination with coaching, or as a separate focus, I can also support people who are suffering from the symptoms of overwhelm, trauma, anxiety and stress, helping them to build more capacity for living their lives.

When I’m not working
I like to spend time in the mountains – summer hiking and winter snowshoeing, enjoying the environment and sense of space, peace and majesty.
I also enjoy cycling in the summer months and the accompanying wonderful scenery.
Amongst my ‘guilty indulgences’ I enjoy being in the kitchen and am a bit of a foodie at heart – as well as a wine enthusiast.
I also love the cinema, theatre, and listening to a wide range of music.
And when travelling I really enjoy all the cultural aspects, particularly quirky design and interesting buildings.
